Definition:

Metaphor is a figure of speech that makes a comparison between two things that are unrelated ( without using like or as )

Examples:

1) "The snow is a white blanket. "

2) In the balcony scene, Act II, Scene 2, ( Romeo and Juliet)
Romeo uses a metaphor to compare Juliet to the sun: But soft, what light through yonder window breaks? It is the East, and Juliet is the sun.
