Definition:

Imagery is when a writer uses senses to describe a subject matter.

Examples:

1) "I could hear the popping and crackling as mom dropped the bacon into the frying pan, and soon the salty, greasy smell wafted toward me."

2) O, she doth teach the torches to burn bright! O, she doth teach the torches to burn bright!
It seems she hangs upon the cheek of night
As a rich jewel in an Ethiop’s ear
Act 1, Scene 5 ( Romeo and Juliet)
